Diary Entry #1
Write a diary entry from the point of view from one of the following. Use specific information from the reading and notes and try to put yourself in their shoes. Why did you come to the conclusion you did?
  • A serf contemplating leaving the manor for a town
  • A lord reacting to a growing town on their land
Diary Entry #2
Write a 2 page typed diary of the following events. Pretend that the person you are writing about is you (so it should be in the first person) You should have multiple diary entries for the different aspects of your journey.
Prompt: You are a Roman Citizen. Now your family is being forced to leave Rome due to the downfall of the empire. You and your family must move onto a manor then make a decision about your future. Write a diary/journal of your experiences. You must include the following topics.
  1. Pick one of the following social classes you were in Rome and what position you now hold in society.
    • Examples: Senator - Lord, Plebeian - Serf
  2. Describe what your life was like when you lived in Rome,
  3. What was the deciding factor on why you left.
  4. What is your life like now on the manor? (give specifics of your daily life)
  5. What does your future hold? Will you move to the town?
